Media player for Android TV and Google TV

StreamX is a media player made for the TV remote. Bring your own playlist, Xtream Codes login or portal and watch live TV, movies and series in a fast, polished interface.

StreamX is a media player only. It does not provide any channels, movies, series or streams. You add a playlist, portal or login that you already have the right to use.

What is a playlist player?

A playlist player is an app that opens the playlist, login or portal your provider gives you and turns it into channels, movies and series you can watch. The player does not supply any content itself, and StreamX is no exception: it plays only what you add.

What StreamX does

  • Live TV with groups, favourites, channel logos, instant search and an EPG guide.
  • Movies and series with posters, cast, trailers, ratings and plot, trending and top-rated lists by language, and suggestions that follow each film's own language.
  • Continue Watching with resume for every movie and episode, progress bars and watched ticks.
  • Profiles for the whole household, each with its own favourites and Watch Later, plus a parental-controls PIN.
  • Catch-up and live pause where your source supports them (live pause is a beta option).
  • Subtitles from your own OpenSubtitles account, and optional Trakt, Simkl and AniList history sync.

Supported sources

M3U and M3U8 playlists, Xtream Codes logins, Stalker and MAG portals, and Jellyfin servers (beta). Add an XMLTV link for the TV guide. You can keep several sources side by side or combine them.

Compatible devices

Android TV and Google TV devices (Sony, TCL, Xiaomi, Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV and others) and Fire TV, running Android 6.0 (API 23) or newer. The app is designed for the 10-foot, D-pad experience.

How to install StreamX

  1. Download the latest .apk from the Releases page.
  2. Copy it to your TV with a USB stick, a file-transfer app or the adb install command.
  3. If asked, allow installs from unknown sources for the app you used to open the file.
  4. Open StreamX, then Profile → Manage Sources to add your playlist or login.
